Any female dancer's that are interested in competition and/or performance must have a McGrath Academy dress. Our competitive season will begin in May and run through November. All dancers are encourage to attend competition. Please check with your child's instructor if your not sure whether or not your child will be ready! : )   
   
    The McGrath Academy Jumper Dress can be made/purchased at anytime through out the year and is recommended for beginners under the age of 12 ONLY as a less expensive alternative to the full dress. (Full dress orders will be offered soon and announced via email!) Please view the picture to the right. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to make a Jumper Dress can vary from 3 - 8 weeks, depending upon our seamstress's and embroiders work load during the time of your order.  

     If you'd like to order a jumper dress for your child please do the following:

    1. Become a member of C.I.D.A. by sending a $20 check (made payable to C.I.D.A.) to our C.I.D.A. president, Alice Butler Short, 9103 Wood Spice Lane, Lorton,VA 22079. In return C.I.D.A. will provide and deliver the required dress materials to our seamstress, Tahira Lam.

    2. Order the required yellow Peter Pan blouse to be worn with the dress. It can be purchased at Frenchtoast, using item numbers 1034B, 1034G, 1034N depending upon the required size.

    3. Contact our jumper dress seamstress, Tahira Lam, 3347 Esquarre Court, Woodbridge, VA 22193, tahirasarah@yahoo.com, 703-583-1319. Send a check for $75 to Tahira and she will do all the tailoring. This includes the jumper, shawl, bloomers and headband.  The headband will come without elastic and parents will need to glue it onto a plastic headband using a glue-gun.

    For the jumper, Tahira will need the following measurements which you should phone or email to her:

            The exact length of the finished jumper should be from the shoulder (close to neck) to 3 to 4 inches above the top of the knee cap.  We have asked Tahira to leave 3 inches inside the jumper dress which can be let down as the dancer grows.

    4. Contact our jumper dress embroiderer, Anne Marie Brandow, 6479 Lake Meadow Drive, Burke, VA 22015, 703-250-6139, tcrg@mcgrathirishdance.com.  Anne Marie will do the embroidery on the jumper, the shawl and and on both corners of the shirt collar. Send a check for $50 to Anne Marie along with your child's blouse. Anne Marie will embroider the blouse and give it to Tahira so that you can pick it up with the jumper.
